Nem &eacute; preciso ler <a target="_blank" target="_blank" href="http://www.brookskubik.com/">o livro</a> para entender isto, basta ver esta filosofia de treino: pura concentra&ccedil;&atilde;o, esfor&ccedil;o m&aacute;ximo, com baixas repeti&ccedil;&otilde;es, aus&ecirc;ncia de drogas e de tecnologia, etc.&nbsp;Este <a target="_blank" href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BXfo_hKO__M" target="_blank">agachamento com barra de 200 kg (440 lb)</a> &eacute; todo ele uma obra-prima de for&ccedil;a primitiva, qual bela pe&ccedil;a teatral merit&oacute;ria de p&uacute;blico pagando pelo espect&aacute;culo!</p>

<p>Dinosaur training positions itself in opposition to <a target="_blank" title="Aerobics" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aerobics">aerobics</a>  exercise culture and to <a target="_blank" title="Bodybuilding" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bodybuilding">bodybuilding</a>  and other training methods geared towards cosmetic purposes. It  stresses intensity, hard work, functional strength, power, endurance and  mental toughness.</p>
<p>The foremost voice in the Dinosaur training movement is Brooks D.  Kubik, although Bob Whelan, <a target="_blank" title="Ken Leistner" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ken_Leistner">Ken  Leistner</a>, and <a target="_blank" class="mw-redirect" title="John McCallum (author)" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_McCallum_%28author%29">John McCallum</a> are  counted as allies. Historical lifters like <a target="_blank" title="Peary Rader" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peary_Rader">Peary  Rader</a> and various late 19th-century and early 20th-century <a target="_blank" title="Strongman (strength athlete)" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strongman_%28strength_athlete%29">strongmen</a> and <a title="Physical<br />
culture" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Physical_culture">physical culture</a> proponents such as <a target="_blank" title="Eugen Sandow" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eugen_Sandow">Eugen  Sandow</a> are regarded as heroes.</p>
<p>Kubik&#8217;s book <i>Dinosaur Training</i> became highly acclaimed by the  weight-lifting community. It offered simple yet effective routines,  which appealed to those who had grown weary of the complex methods  offered by many authors. The book was also motivational, and even  humorous at times.</p>
<p>For a time Kubik advocated Dinosaur Training using bodyweight  exercises, as described in his book Dinosaur Bodyweight Training (2006),  using such exercises as pushups, handstand pushups, pullups, neck  bridges, hanging leg raises, and two- and one-legged deep knee bends. E porqu&ecirc; se levanta agora esta quest&atilde;o? Porque certamente Bill Clinton vai receber novamente <a href="http://www.canibaisereis.com/2009/07/16/dietas-para-engordar-das-autoridades-oficiais/">as t&iacute;picas recomenda&ccedil;&otilde;es low-fat oficiais</a>, que n&atilde;o o livraram de voltar agora &agrave; mesa de opera&ccedil;&otilde;es, cerca de 6 anos ap&oacute;s <a href="http://www.time.com/time/health/article/0,8599,1963893,00.html" target="_blank">o seu primeiro quadruplo-bypass</a>. E apesar da <a target="_blank" href="http://www.canibaisereis.com/2008/12/20/hipotese-lipidica/">evid&ecirc;ncia actual, aniquilando a hip&oacute;tese lip&iacute;dica</a>, as autoridades fazem quest&atilde;o em manter recomenda&ccedil;&otilde;es antigas e sem fundamento. Note-se que neste seu artigo apareceram alguns comentadores de peso, como por exemplo o <a target="_blank" href="http://www.second-opinions.co.uk/" target="_blank">Dr. Barry Groves</a>, referindo o seu artigo <a target="_blank" href="http://www.second-opinions.co.uk/should-all-animals-eat-a-high-fat-low-carb-diet.html" target="_blank">Should all animals eat a high-fat, low-carb diet?</a>, Ted Hutchinson citando a investiga&ccedil;&atilde;o mais recente, Richard Nikoley recomendando <a target="_blank" href="http://freetheanimal.com/2010/01/saturated-fat-and-coronary-heart-disease-part-v-the-science.html" target="_blank">um seu artigo</a>, outros comentadores citando artigos do <a target="_blank" href="http://wholehealthsource.blogspot.com/2008/10/saturated-fat-and-health-brief.html" target="_blank">Dr. Stephan Guyenet</a>, etc. Eu tamb&eacute;m deixei um coment&aacute;rio hoje, indicando o <a target="_blank" href="http://www.canibaisereis.com/2009/09/19/low-cholesterol-certainly-not-healthy/">meu artigo em ingl&ecirc;s sobre colesterol</a>, vejamos se &eacute; publicado (<span style="color: rgb(255, 0, 0);"><strong>Nota de 18-02-2010:&nbsp;e n&atilde;o &eacute; que foi mesmo publicado </strong></span><a target="_blank" href="http://blogs.food.gov.uk/roller/science/entry/mad_bad_and_dangerous_to"><span style="color: rgb(255, 0, 0);"><strong>aqui</strong></span></a><span style="color: rgb(255, 0, 0);"><strong>? Acho que isto &eacute; um sinal de alguma abertura, afinal as autoridades n&atilde;o s&atilde;o completamente herm&eacute;ticas</strong></span>). Face &agrave; resposta final, torna-se evidente que a atitude oficial ser&aacute; sempre &quot;n&oacute;s sabemos que gorduras saturadas s&atilde;o nocivas, independentemente de qualquer estudo em contr&aacute;rio, e mesmo que todos os estudos o venham a negar, n&oacute;s continuaremos a manter que s&atilde;o m&aacute;s&quot;. <p>There have been a number of comments on the blog questioning the  evidence behind our advice on reducing saturated fat intakes. In  particular, three studies, including one meta-analysis (i.e. bringing  together the results of different research addressing similar  questions), have combined the results of individual studies on the  relationship between saturated fat and incidence of cardiovascular  disease (CVD) or coronary heart disease (CHD) (Jakobsen et al., 2009;  Skeaff and Miller, 2009; Siri-Tarino et al., 2010). The findings from  these are not new. Earlier meta-analyses have looked at the same issue.</p>
<p>So is the FSA wasting public money campaigning to reduce saturated  fat consumption? A detailed look at the papers and the evidence tells me  we&rsquo;re not. Why? Well first please accept my apologies for the slightly  more technical tone in the following, but many of you who&rsquo;ve posted  comments on this subject obviously have a scientific background and I  think it&rsquo;s important to explain the science fully.</p>
<p>The majority of the analyses in these papers are based on combining  data from prospective cohort studies. There are a number of problems  with these types of data. For example, participants have their diets  assessed at one time point and then they are followed up many years  later (between 4 and 25 years) to collect health and death information.  Of course, during this time, people&rsquo;s diets may change a great deal. The  quality of fat in the diet may also have changed, for example, the type  of fats used in margarine production and for cooking oils, has changed  over the years. Another issue is that the dietary information in these  studies is often collected using a food frequency questionnaire &ndash;  although these are relatively easy to use, they are less accurate than  more detailed dietary assessment methodologies that are carried out over  several days.</p>
<p>Additionally, prospective cohort studies only allow the  identification of associations &ndash; not a cause and effect &ndash; and are  therefore difficult to interpret due to confounding factors and bias  from other CHD risk factors that might not have been taken into account.  For example, most studies have considered smoking (which is a major  risk factor for CHD), but not all have taken into account the use of the  cholesterol lowering drug statin, which reduces CHD, to some extent,  independently of diet.</p>
<p>The Skeaff and Miller (2009) paper included a small number of  randomised controlled trials (RCTs) as part of its analysis. These RCTs  had some design problems. For example, only small numbers of  participants were involved or they were of short duration. Larger and  longer RCTs with robust design are required. However, they have not yet  been done due to the huge cost and long timescales needed to conduct  them.</p>
<p>Although the analyses reported in the paper suggest that reducing  saturated fat is not significantly associated with CHD risk, all three  analyses highlight that replacing saturated fat with unsaturated fat,  particularly polyunsaturated fat, may help to reduce the risk of CHD,  which is part of the Agency&rsquo;s advice.</p>
<p>In common with the World Health Organization and other eminent public  health bodies, the Agency recognises that there is evidence to support  an indirect link between saturated fat intake and increased LDL  cholesterol, which may lead to increased risk of CHD. The favourable  effect of replacing saturated fat with unsaturated fat on blood  cholesterol levels is well established (Mensink et al., 2003). The idea  that lowering LDL cholesterol levels can lead to a reduction in the risk  of developing CHD has firmly been recognised by RCTs of statins  (Cholesterol Treatment Trialists&rsquo; Collaborators, 2005). It is therefore  reasonable to conclude that reducing saturated fat will reduce LDL  cholesterol and overtime will lead to a reduced risk in CHD.</p>
<p>So, given the weight of evidence, our message is simple &ndash; we should  all be continuing to cut back on saturated fat, getting a balanced diet  and moving more. You can find out more about eating healthily on our <a rel="nofollow" title="website opens<br />

<p>Este artigo constitui um bom resumo do trabalho de investiga&ccedil;&atilde;o em lipidologia cardiovascular do <a target="_blank" href="http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed?term=%22Krauss%20RM%22[Author]&amp;cmd=DetailsSearch" target="_blank">Dr. Ronald M. Krauss</a> (n&atilde;o perca tamb&eacute;m <a target="_blank" href="http://www.futuremedicine.com/doi/pdf/10.2217/14622416.9.8.997" target="_blank">esta entrevista</a>). Trata-se de um artigo longo e t&eacute;cnico, mas a ideia de base &eacute; relativamente simples. Na pr&aacute;tica, as part&iacute;culas de LDL&nbsp;s&atilde;o moduladas em fun&ccedil;&atilde;o do tipo de dieta, de tal forma que em dietas de baixo valor em hidratos de carbono&nbsp;(HC) esse perfil tende para o chamado Padr&atilde;o A, de menor potencial aterog&eacute;nico e em que as part&iacute;culas de LDL&nbsp;s&atilde;o menos densas e maiores (por oposi&ccedil;&atilde;o ao indesej&aacute;vel padr&atilde;o B, t&iacute;pico das dietas altas em HC e que elevam triglic&eacute;ridos, caracterizado por part&iacute;culas aterog&eacute;nicas pequenas e densas de LDL). Ou seja, a hip&oacute;tese aqui &eacute; que &eacute; muito menos importante o n&iacute;vel de LDL e mais relevante o seu potencial aterog&eacute;nico. Porqu&ecirc;?&nbsp;Porque a aterosclerose <a target="_blank" href="http://www.canibaisereis.com/2009/09/08/gorduras-saturadas-entopem-tudo/" target="_blank">n&atilde;o resulta de nenhum entupimento de canos</a>, como <a href="http://www.canibaisereis.com/2009/04/04/ancel-keys-pai-da-epidemiologia/">o Dr. Ancel Keys postulou h&aacute; umas d&eacute;cadas</a>, mas antes de complexos fen&oacute;menos bioqu&iacute;micos, onde est&aacute; presente a oxida&ccedil;&atilde;o de l&iacute;pidos vulner&aacute;veis. E&nbsp;o facto &eacute; que as part&iacute;culas de LDL&nbsp;pequeno e denso (sdLDL) correlaciona-se muito melhor com o grau de aterosclerose, ao contr&aacute;rio do LDL&nbsp;total que &eacute; um mau preditor. Esta ci&ecirc;ncia &eacute; com certeza recente, e qualquer cardiologista nos dir&aacute; que est&aacute; errada, que o LDL&nbsp;elevado &eacute; que &eacute; mortal. Mas o &quot;problema&quot; &eacute; mais o grau de aterogeneidade desse LDL e n&atilde;o tanto a quantidade em que se apresenta. <a target="_blank" href="http://www.canibaisereis.com/2009/10/01/ldl-colesterol-sem-risco-cardiovascular/">O n&iacute;vel de  LDL-C, por si s&oacute;, sem se considerarem as suas sub-frac&ccedil;&otilde;es, n&atilde;o parece ser grande marcador de risco cardiovascular</a>, pois n&atilde;o? Principalmente porque pessoas internadas com doen&ccedil;a cardiovascular apresentam LDL&nbsp;inferior ao da popula&ccedil;&atilde;o em geral. J&aacute; agora, adivinhe s&oacute; <a href="http://drbganimalpharm.blogspot.com/2009/09/death-band-sdldl-on-lipoprotein.html" target="_blank">o que acontece quando se consomem muitos cereais saud&aacute;veis, frutose e a&ccedil;&uacute;cares, ser&aacute; que evolu&iacute;mos para o Padr&atilde;o B?</a> E agora uma coisa ainda mais escandalosa, parece que as <a target="_blank" href="http://www.canibaisereis.com/tag/gorduras-saturadas/">gorduras saturadas</a> (sim, de ALIMENTOS como carne/ovos/leite/queijo - <a target="_blank" href="http://www.gyorgyscrinis.com/GS-Nutritionism-Gastronomica.pdf">hoje em dia j&aacute; n&atilde;o existem alimentos, os &quot;especialistas&quot; s&oacute; falam nutrientes</a>) modelam FAVORAVELMENTE o perfil lip&iacute;dico, isto &eacute;, <a target="_blank" target="_blank" href="http://drbganimalpharm.blogspot.com/2009/09/death-band-sdldl-on-lipoprotein.html">deslocam-no para o padr&atilde;o A, tornando-o menos aterog&eacute;nico</a>. Isto para al&eacute;m de <a target="_blank" target="_blank" href="http://wholehealthsource.blogspot.com/2010/02/saturated-fat-and-insulin-sensitivity.html">n&atilde;o alterarem sensibilidade &agrave; insulina, </a>pois claro. &Eacute; muito ir&oacute;nico, sem d&uacute;vida. Todo este esfor&ccedil;o para demonstrar e justificar o &oacute;bvio, que</p>
<p><span style="font-size: large;"><strong>gorduras saturadas de alimentos ancestrais/ tradicionais, desde que minimamente processados e </strong></span><span style="font-size: large;"><strong> provenientes de animais  saud&aacute;veis</strong></span><span style="font-size: large;"><strong>, nada t&ecirc;m a haver com doen&ccedil;as cardiovasculares&nbsp;(e j&aacute; agora, nem com <a target="_blank" href="http://www.canibaisereis.com/2009/11/08/gorduras-saturadas-causam-cancro-do-pancreas/">cancro do p&acirc;ncreas</a>, nem com <a href="http://andreiatorres.blogspot.com/2010/02/esteatose-hepatica.html" target="_blank">esteatose/ f&iacute;gado gordo</a> que depende de <a href="http://www.canibaisereis.com/2009/10/04/figado-gordo-nao-alcoolico-abordagem-paleo/">outras coisas</a>, etc.),</strong></span></p>
<p>e que condenar esses alimentos, com os quais evolu&iacute;mos ao longo de milh&otilde;es de anos, s&oacute; contribui ainda mais para <a target="_blank" href="http://www.canibaisereis.com/2009/07/16/dietas-para-engordar-das-autoridades-oficiais/">o actual caos nutricional</a>. Repare-se que a condena&ccedil;&atilde;o injustificada das gorduras saturadas, <a href="http://www.canibaisereis.com/2009/09/12/gorduras-saturadas-e-trans-e-doenca-cardiovascular/" target="_blank">na maioria dos estudos, assenta unicamente na varia&ccedil;&atilde;o de um par&acirc;metro obscuro como &eacute; o LDL</a>. Ali&aacute;s, ouvi at&eacute; dizer que <a target="_blank" href="http://thescreamonline.com/essays/essays5-1/vegoil.html">quem come&ccedil;ou esta cruzada contra as gorduras saturadas, por raz&otilde;es puramente comerciais e n&atilde;o propriamente de sa&uacute;de, foi o l&oacute;bie dos &oacute;leos vegetais &quot;saud&aacute;veis&quot;</a>, atrav&eacute;s de entidades com a American Soybean Association (ASA), a Corn Products Company (CPC International), etc.&nbsp;Portanto, eu se estivesse no seu lugar teria alguma cautela antes se aceitar acriticamente <a target="_blank" target="_blank" href="http://www.centro-nutricao-fula.pt/oleos_vegetais/mitos_nutricionais.asp">certo tipo de recomenda&ccedil;&otilde;es</a>&#8230;</p>

Naturalmente porque os mecanismos envolvidos no autismo, e demais doen&ccedil;as auto-imunes, que apresentam cada vez maior incid&ecirc;ncia, s&atilde;o m&uacute;ltiplos e muito subtis. O&nbsp;&quot;problema&quot; &eacute; que o nosso corpo humano &eacute; altamente resiliente, disp&otilde;e de <a href="http://ontology.buffalo.edu/medo/Modularity.pdf" target="_blank">mecanismos altamente redundantes para evitar a doen&ccedil;a</a>, pelo que &eacute; necess&aacute;rio muitas falhas em simult&acirc;neo para algo correr verdadeiramente mal. Por isso, quanto maior a exposi&ccedil;&atilde;o ambiental a qu&iacute;micos t&oacute;xicos, proveniente de v&aacute;rias fontes, pior. Isto &eacute; mero bom senso, n&atilde;o necessita de nenhum estudo cient&iacute;fico para ser percepcionado. Por maioria de raz&atilde;o, n&atilde;o deve ser boa ideia vacinar qualquer ser vivo com quantidades indiscriminadas de <a target="_blank" href="http://www.communicationagents.com/chris/vaccine_contamination_mcrearden.pdf" target="_blank">vacinas, todas elas contendo contaminantes</a>. &Eacute; o que se passa hoje nos EUA, e para onde caminham todos pa&iacute;ses &quot;desenvolvidos&quot;. Os benef&iacute;cios compensam os riscos?&nbsp;Est&aacute; por provar pois n&atilde;o existem estudos de longo prazo avaliando multifactorialmente a predisposi&ccedil;&atilde;o para a doen&ccedil;a. De qualquer forma, nenhum dos opositores desta hip&oacute;tese poder&aacute; alguma vez afirmar que <a target="_blank" href="http://www.hc-sc.gc.ca/hl-vs/alt_formats/pacrb-dgapcr/pdf/iyh-vsv/environ/merc2008-eng.pdf" target="_blank">o merc&uacute;rio &eacute; uma subst&acirc;ncia saud&aacute;vel ao ser humano</a>. Bem pelo contr&aacute;rio, &eacute; um metal pesado que causa bioacumula&ccedil;&atilde;o, com sintomas de toxicidade muito similares ao do autismo. Mais abaixo &eacute; referido que &quot;o &uacute;nico m&eacute;todo comprovado para prolongar a vida em diversos animais, incluindo primatas, &eacute; a restri&ccedil;&atilde;o cal&oacute;rica&quot;.&nbsp;Eu acrescentaria que, se sabemos que determinados estilos de vida n&atilde;o s&atilde;o nada favor&aacute;veis &agrave; sa&uacute;de, ent&atilde;o evit&aacute;-los ser&aacute; tamb&eacute;m provavelmente uma boa forma de obter maior longevidade. Por outras palavras, evite excessos como o do nosso amigo da foto acima (&eacute; um exemplo figurativo, pois claro; poderia tamb&eacute;m estar a fumar, a consumir drogas, <a href="http://www.gyorgyscrinis.com/GS-Sorry-Marge-Meanjin.pdf" target="_blank">a comer margarina</a>, etc.) porque eles n&atilde;o favorecer&atilde;o em nada a sua longevidade!</p>

<p>Concerning longevity, it is well known that caloric restriction is the  only proven method to extend live in various animals including primates  (1-6) .</p>
<p>One of the reasons why people from Okinawa live more is  because they eat less calories than people from mainland Japan (7).  Well, 2 of the 3 intervention studies with a Pre-agriculture Diet show  that one people are advised to eat the food groups available in  Paleolithic era they eat less calories, although they haven&#8217;t been  advised to do that (8, 9).</p>
<p>Some of the mechanisms by which  caloric restriction is beneficial for longevity are:</p>
<p>Decrease  in visceral fat - a Paleo type Diet has been shown to do that (8)</p>
<p>Decrease IGF-1/IGFBP-3 - by eating a low glycemic load diet and  avoiding high fructose foods you will normalize insulin metabolism and  your IGF-1/IGBP-3 may decrease (see this paper to understand what I&#8217;m  saying:&nbsp;<a target="_blank" target="_blank" href="http://www.thepaleodiet.com/articles/Hyperinsulinemic%20Diseases%20Final.pdf ">Evolutionary Health Promotion. A consideration of common counter-arguments</a>)</p>
<p>Decreased glycation - by eating a low glycemic load  diet, ingesting plenty of carnosine (10), reducing fructose (11),  avoiding galactose (12) and avoiding cooking at high temperatures, you  will be decreasing glycation.</p>
<p>Decreased glycolysis (14) - a  low Glycemic load diet will achieve this.</p>
<p>Elevated insulin  sensitivity - the studies with the Paleo Diet have shown that it  increases insulin sensitivity (8, 15)</p>
<p>Moreover, if you read some  of Dr. Cordain&#8217;s papers available <a target="_blank" target="_blank" href="http://www.thepaleodiet.com/published_research/">here</a>, you will see how the modern diet  is responsible for most of the so called diseases of civilization, who  normally aflict people in the post reproductive years.</p>
<p>Finally,  it should be mentioned that many of the so called healthy diets that are  being promoted for longevity and optimal health actually contain one or  more characteristics of a pre-agriculture diet (The Paleo Diet), so  presumably we would expect them to lead to better health outcomes. For  instance, the diet of Crete (which was then used to formulate the  Mediterrean diet) has a low w6/w3 ratio, contains plenty of fruits and  vegetables and most of the fat is monounsaturated (16), just like  pre-agricultures diets.</p>
<p>And the traditional diet of Okinawas is  composed by fruit, vegetables, sweet potatoes (not potatoes, which  contain harmful glykoalcaloids), rice (it doesn&#8217;t include gluten grains,  which are worse than rice), fish, fermented soy (it is better than  normal soy, although it still has harmful saponins and lectins and as  so, we don&#8217;t advise it) and some pork, so it has a lower w6/w3 ratio and  no trans fatty acids, which are very important characteristics of  pre-agricultures diets.</p>
<p>Furthermore, it&#8217;s not just diet: we also  have to look at their lifestyle which is closer to the one followed by  our H/G ancestors: sun exposure, exercise, good sleep patterns and acute  stress (exercise) as opposed to chronic stress (the one we experience).</p>

<p>The United States has been living out its Puritan Protestant origin and denying the sensual enjoyment of food by eating scientifically to survive, which according to Levenstein has &ldquo;bred a vague indifference to food, manifested in a tendency to eat and run, rather than to dine and savor&rdquo; (Pollan 2008:54). According to many, America&rsquo;s Fast Food &ldquo;culture&rdquo; is causing great socio-cultural, public health, economic and environmental problems (Pollan 2008; Petrini 2003). In an attempt to preserve food cultures around the world, Slow Food started as a social movement against Fast Food and the fast life that was becoming more prevalent in Italy, a culture where &ldquo;meals are a central arena for the family&rdquo; (Counihan 1999:49). Unsurprisingly, early in the 19th century Italian Americans successfully resisted the Americanization of their meals, making foods out of fresh ingredients from local markets or their own gardens (Levenstein 1993). The Slow Food movement is continuing the Italian tradition of cultural culinary preservation by resisting McDonaldization of the food chain.</p>
